Meet Our Pastors

Pastors Mike and Ghilaine Darnell

Mike Darnell was born in 1981 and raised in the inner city communities of Greenville, SC. As a teen he found himself mixed up with drug dealing, gang affiliations and living in a single parent home. He seemed to be on the typical path of teens raised in single parent homes living in the inner cities... Until he met Jesus Christ and everything changed. He was restored by the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and given a vision to see people restored with new life no matter their situation!

Mike is now a rising voice to the world, bringing the message of Jesus Christ to many nations and people across the globe. He has been used by God to speak to leaders, pastors and congregations of all ages, titles and nationalities in various places in the U.S. and many nations around the world. He is married to Ghilaine Darnell and they have two beautiful children named Neah Darnell and Michael Darnell Jr. (aka Mikey). He is the Lead Pastor of Excel Church located in Atlanta Ga, and loves to see people's potential revealed and families restored for the glory of God. He believes that God wants you to have LIFE 2 THE MAX!

We believe Love never fails. God Loved us First, so we will do the same and make the First move. (1 Cor 13:8)

Those above, below, and on our level will be honored as a valuable part of the body of Christ.
It is worth the extra effort to make people feel appreciated and needed. (Matt 10:40-42)

03 We bring excellence.

We go above and beyond the call of duty to be ready for anything. We believe everything matters and the details make the difference. (Col 3:23)

04 We bring big faith.

The God factor is on our side and we can accomplish anything. We set Big Goals and attack them Boldly and watch God work. (Matt 19:26)

05 We bring passion.

We Work Hard, having the time of our lives serving through His abilities working in us. (Prov 14:23)

06 We bring change.

We are fired up about every opportunity to serve and bring change in our world. (Luke 14:23)

07 We bring generosity.

We are prepared to give. We give first, We give often and we give generously through every area of our life understanding God's grace that abounds on our behalf. (2 Cor 9:5-7)

08 We bring teamwork.

We are One. No one is left alone to carry heavy loads. We look for opportunities to serve and help each other accomplish a goal. (1 Cor 1:10)

09 We bring a unified vision.

Excel Church is built on the Vision given by God. We are all on board and will fight to keep our Unity and protect Our Vision.

10 We bring focus.

We are gifted to do some things, but not everything. We will remain focused on the things we can do well and embrace what that allows us to pursue. (Rom 12:6)

11 We bring it up.

We share our faith, our story, and everything that is happening at Excel Church with everyone. We always close the deal by inviting them to church with us. We will help others encounter Jesus by any means necessary. (John 4:39-4)

12 We bring gratitude.

What we get to do for the Lord is not normal and we refuse to take this for granted. We remain Thankful for God's Favor on us. (Eph 5:20)

(Matt 10:8) And everything we bring we have been given freely by the Grace of God. Freely we have received so freely we give!

We believe in one God, who exists in three Persons — the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is loving, holy and just. (1 John 5:7)

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is inspired and accurate. It is our perfect guide in all matters of life. Its message is about a King, His Kingdom and His Royal Family.

We believe sin has separated us all from God, and that only through Jesus Christ can we be reconciled to God. (Rom 5:12-21)

We believe Jesus Christ is both God and Man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took all our sins upon Himself, died and rose again. Today, He is seated at the right hand of the Father as our High Priest and Mediator. (John 1:1, 14, 20 - 28; 1 Tim 2:5; Isaiah 9:6)

We believe that salvation is the gift of God to man. This gift is effected by grace through faith in Jesus Christ and it produces works pleasing to God. (Eph 2:8-9)

We believe that water baptism is an outward act that demonstrates a believer's identification with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. (Matt 28:19)

We believe the Holy Spirit is our Comforter. He guides us in all areas of our lives. He also blesses us with spiritual gifts and empowers us to yield the fruit of the Spirit. He lives in every believer. (John 14:17)

We believe the Holy Communion is a celebration of Jesus’ death and our remembrance of Him. (1 Cor 10:16)

We believe God wants to transform, heal and prosper us, so that we can live blessed and victorious lives that will impact and help others. (Rom 5:17; 3 John 1:2)
